ABOUT US
The Chef and OwnerMohamed Elbery first learned how to prepare and cook traditional Mediterranean food from his grandmother back from his hometown in Egypt. (Many of the dishes on the menu are directly from his hometown!) After learning his mother's secrets, Mohamed went of to Western Europe to learn from some of the best chefs in the world. He honed his craft in kitchens in England, France, and Switzerland before coming to the States in order to fulfill his dreams of opening a restaurant. Café 28 blends classic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine with elements of ingredients you can only find at the Jersey Shore into your one stop shop for great food and service. All of Café 28's dishes are made right from his home and we only use the freshest ingredients.
We have an extensive in-house and catering menus, but we are open to creating dishes that do not appear on the traditional menu. Our goal is to make you, the customer, happy and satisfied that your meal/catering is up to your standards and taste. Whether you stop in for our specially blended Mediterranean coffee, or you stay for our Café 28 Special Entrée we strive to make your dining experience one you will remember. With personable service and impeccable food, Café 28 will become your favorite destination in Ocean Township. Café 28 is opened seven days a week in order to provide wonderful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes to everyone in Monmouth and Ocean Counties etc. We serve lunch, dinner and even dessert only using freshest and local ingredients.
